These images are newsletter excerpts (from February 2012), of which I designed the layout and graphics, while I was deployed with the United States Air Force’s 73 Expeditionary Air Control Squadron (EACS) at Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan from January to July 2012.  Titled Eyes of the Sword, the five-issue newsletter informed family and friends in the United States about my squadron’s events.  The logo, photos, and articles are courtesy of the newsletter personnel, while the quote is from former United States President James Garfield.
